About the training ADS provides
Audio Description Services (ADS) offers interactive training workshops for participants who are current describers and those interested in learning audio description. Based on the application of critical skills found in the Audio Description Standards, these workshops are tailored to the needs of each client and their intended audience.
Following initial training, ADS staff can be available for additional mentoring, coaching, and program evaluation.
Ms. Lewis has delivered training to countless individuals who have gone on to be audio describers in both Theaters and Museums. She can work equally well with beginners and advance learners.

Audio Description Webinars:
ADS webinars are offered on a variety of subjects including Introduction to Audio Description and the Do’s and Don’ts of Audio Description. Other webinars can be created based on the needs of the individual organization.
Webinars are presented live and online in a Zoom or Teams format. Staff can involve many people in their organization who are interested in audio description in these webinars.

Audio Description Training for Organizations:
Performance based organizations including Theatre, Dance, Music
Audio Description Services (ADS) offers interactive, on-site training workshops for participants who are current describers and those interested in learning audio description. Based on the application of critical skills found in the Audio Description Standards, these workshops are tailored to the needs of each client and their intended audience.
Recommended: minimum 2 consecutive training days.
Through interactive, participatory exercises, lectures, and demonstrations in a shared setting, participants will learn how to utilize critical skills found in the Audio Description Standards and apply them to their discipline.
Participants will learn about the preparation of pre-show notes which serve to describe the set, cast of characters, and visual elements to the blind or low vision audience before the performance begins.
Participants will also practice the art and technique of live audio description by inserting descriptions of essential visual elements during a performance.
Following initial training, ADS staff can be available for additional mentoring, coaching, and program evaluation.

Audio Description Services (ADS) offers interactive, on-site training workshops for participants who are current describers and those interested in learning audio description. Based on the application of critical skills found in the Audio Description Standards, these workshops are tailored to the needs of each client and their intended audience.
Recommended: minimum 2 consecutive training days.
Through interactive, participatory exercises, lectures, and demonstrations in a shared setting, participants will learn how to utilize critical skills found in the Audio Description Standards focusing on the setting your audience and/or visitors will experience.
Participants will learn the basics of audio description followed by wayfinding, and script writing of description of objects and exhibits.
Participants will also write descriptions of the elements of their organization and share them with other participants as well as receive evaluation of their work.
Following initial training, ADS staff can be available for additional mentoring, coaching, and program evaluation.
